Hazy Shades of Winter
Lately, I've been into imagining looking at the world through frosty windows. In one of my first apartments in New York, the windows were original to the more than 120-year-old brownstone -- single paned, gridded casement windows that did not seal. During winter, they were always thickly frosted over, diffusing the light and the shapes. You could as easily have been looking through them at a wintery beach scene as at soft hues of sky between the spindly branches of a tree.
